L’infància és el moment ideal per iniciar la nostra educació financera
La infancia es una etapa donde nuestra mente es más propensa a retener nuevos saberes y hábitos; también en temas financieros. En esta etapa la ayuda y ejemplo de los padres para el desarrollo de las finanzas personales de los más pequeños son clave.
La educación financiera ha tenido que cambiar en las últimas dos generaciones, por ello es inútil pensar que los niños aprenderán de la misma manera que sus padres.
La psicología explica que las finanzas personales, al igual que los modales y el vocabulario, son más arraigadas durante la infancia que en cualquier otra edad.
Sobre todo ante las crecientes innovaciones financieras y tecnológicas, así como de los nuevos instrumentos surgidos a través del tiempo. Patricia Bermúdez, catedrática de la Facultad de Psicología de la UNAM, dijo que como adultos debemos mostrar a los niños una vida financiera sana, incluirlos en la realización de un presupuesto y demostrarles que se obtienen resultados positivos.
Por el contrario, explicó que si no hay un manejo claro de las finanzas y los resultados son desfavorables, el resultado probablemente será negativo para los niños años después. “Los pequeños basan su aprendizaje, especialmente, en la imitación y siguiendo modelos básicos”, expuso la especialista.
Agregó que es necesario dejar claro cuáles son los instrumentos que hay y qué beneficios se obtiene de cada uno; también de temas como la vivienda o tener una pensión digna (en el largo plazo) u obtener inversiones, seguros y créditos (en el corto y mediano plazo).

Hay que entender que esta nueva generación tiene que utilizar otras herramientas, más aún, debe controlarlos mejor por las condiciones económicas, las regulaciones y el funcionamiento más exigente que se observa hoy en día.
Mariana Valdés, directora de estrategia de Save the Children, coincidió en el rol de enseñanza de los adultos a sus hijos. “El correcto manejo de las finanzas personales, como cualquier educación debe ser integral,no se trata de asistir a cursos o talleres, consiste en aprender, prácticamente toda la vida”, agregó.
La especialista consideró que la educación financiera se tiene que adaptar a todos los estratos sociales, ya que sin importar el nivel de ingreso, se observa que hay gastos innecesarios y una mínima planeación.

A través de estos talleres, con un lenguaje sencillo y accesible y sin necesidad de conocimiento previo, explicaremos las nociones básicas a tener en cuenta para manejar las finanzas domésticas. También se darán las claves para analizar la propia situación personal y todo lo que debemos saber para invertir nuestro dinero, pedir un préstamo, aprender a utilizar la banca online de forma segura, ahorrar para la jubilación, planificar mensualmente nuestros ingresos y gastos, etc.
