26/06/2014 – Para llevar con éxito la educación financiera a las escuelas y generar hábitos adecuados a edades tempranas, se requiere preparar también a los profesores, aseguraron expertos en inclusión financiera.Durante el Foro Internacional de Inclusión Financiera México 2014, destacaron la decisión del gobierno mexicano de acercar temas financieros a la educación desde el nivel básico hasta universidades, aunque mencionaron desafíos importantes.

La directora ejecutiva de Cultura Organizacional y Educación Financiera de la Asociación de Bancos de México (ABM), Loreto García, dijo que paralelamente a la inclusión de educación financiera en las escuelas se debe preparar a los docentes.

Si trabajamos con un sector socioeconómico desfavorecido también tenemos que trabajar con un sector económico fuerte, porque si no estamos haciendo la brecha de la equidad más profunda, entonces creo que a los maestros nos urge encontrar los beneficios de esta educación financiera en términos de nuestra propia vida

Asimismo, destacó que llevando temas financieros a las escuelas se tendrán grandes beneficios, primero porque se tienen a una población cautiva entre cuatro y seis horas, además que a más temprana edad es más fácil formar hábitos que perduren.

Durante el panel ‘Educación Financiera para los Usuarios de Servicios Financieros’, la directora resaltó que se pueden incluir estos temas de manera muy sutil en materias curriculares y ejemplificó que en matemáticas podían incluirse aspectos como la creación de presupuesto, entre otros.
