Educación financiera: en qué puntos son buenos los españoles y en cuáles pueden mejorar

Una mejor comprensión de los conceptos relacionados con la educación financiera y el riesgo ayuda a las personas a tomar decisiones financieras inteligentes. Esta afirmación, que puede parecer una obviedad, no lo es tanto: un estudio realizado recientemente por Allianz Global Investors entre inversores europeos – incluyendo a España- demuestra que “es dos veces más probable que tomen mejores decisiones financieras las personas con una buena comprensión de los conceptos financieros que las que no la tienen”.

La encuesta también reveló que, a pesar de la atención dedicada a temas financieros tras la crisis financiera, los europeos tienen niveles preocupantemente bajos de educación financiera y sobre el riesgo. La proporción de respuestas correctas prácticamente coincidió con los resultados de estudios realizados hace más de una década.

El estudio de Allianz Global Investors, supervisado por Annamaria Lusardi (directora académica del Centro de Excelencia en Educación Financiera Global de la Universidad George Washington) se basó en entrevistas a una muestra de 1.000 personas por cada uno de los diez países europeos donde se realizó la investigación: Austria, Bélgica, Francia, Alemania, Italia, Países Bajos, Portugal, España, Suiza y Reino Unido. Según el estudio, España ocupa el séptimo lugar del ranking de conocimientos de educación financiera, después del Reino Unido y por delante de Italia. Austria, Alemania y Suiza fueron los países mejor posicionados dentro del estudio…
